Hi,

I’m Terrica…

Terrica America poses with a smile for her 2025 Commencement Speaker graduation photo.

I’m a recent graduate of NC State who identifies as a communication specialist. I have a passion for bridging gaps, mitigating communication risks, and digital advocacy through storytelling. With an IT military background and a strong foundation in public speaking, I look forward to helping others shape their stories confidently, ensure their voices are heard.

Recognition & Impact

“The 2025 NC State Commencement speaker, Terrica Lewis, joined our show today. Her message is simple, "No dream is too distant, no failure too final and no age too old to learn.” It was a degree 18 years in the making and she never gave up getting to her own dream. It felt like we were in the middle of a TED Talk or if you prefer, the Terrica Talk.” -KBS #RadioInterview #TerricaTalks #PublicSpeaking #Perseverence

“We didn’t just earn degrees today. We proved no dream is too distant, no failure too final and no age is too old to learn.”

Being chosen to speak at commencement wasn’t just an honor—it was a reminder that my voice has impact, and I’m ready to use it where it matters.

“So today, Wolfpack, I want to ask you—how many seeds of failure planted in hardship brought us to this very special moment?”

I also became a collector of dreams deferred, but never abandoned.
— Terrica Lewis

“But here’s the thing—there are lessons the ground taught me that a mountaintop never could. Maybe the most important is that failure isn’t a dead end; it’s a detour.”

Spring 2025 – NC State Commencement Speaker

This wasn’t just a speech—it was a promise to my younger self that we belong here, too. I stood up not because I had it all figured out, but because I knew someone needed to see what healing, strength, and voice can look like.”
